The RED

I went to help out with filming a short film yesterday. the real reason was because of the RED camera that they were using and I wanted to see it coz I knew they wouldn’t ask me to do anything important and I’m not that armature now go make coffee or clean up after them! but it turned out to be better actually and except the last 2 hours for the rest I was actually a camera assistant which was good and gave me the chance to get my hands on RED. it wasn’t really what I imagined it would be and if you had the whole kit installed it’s heavy as hell! but I guess since it records digitally and with the awesome 4k quality it’s worth it! it was a good day overall and satisfying to see the disappointed camera man face when I said I’m not coming back for tomorrow! 😀 it was although interesting to see what they do it’s not far from what I do in my filming, basically they just have more crew and better equipments! but i don’t think these people were the professional anyway …
